Be the Change You Want to See

wednesdaynovember 27, 2019dinner startsat 6pm

Have you ever gone through a period in your life when you constantly asked why God why, when God when? You continued to ask these questions for what seems like an eternity. Then finally, you say God I give up. Have your way.

I recently went through a period like this and God told me, be the change you want to see. The change you are so desperately longing for starts with you. You already have everything you need to change your life. I have already equipped you with the tools and talents you need to make your life better.

I was in a place where nothing fulfilled me. No matter how much I engaged in social media, no matter how much YouTube and TV I watched to escape, I could not find any relief for the void I was trying desperately to fulfill. Finally, God gave me an assignment, a desire and a passion. He told me, spread the love of my son Jesus. That is your sole purpose in this life I gave you. Be a light in dark places. Be a vessel to help lead others to Jesus.

I thought to myself “How Sway?!” 🙂 I have no platform, I have no influence, no one will listen to me. He said follow my instruction and I’ll do the rest. I reluctantly accepted the challenge. Every since I did, I’ve notice that I am slowly but surely becoming the change I want to see in the world.

There is nothing more fulfilling then doing the work of Christ and fulfilling your purpose in life, no matter how big or small you may think it is. Be the change you want to see. Whatever God has put inside of you, use it to change your own life and eventually you will help change the lives of others, and hopefully the world.

  1. This is a very inspiring post. I can relate with almost everything you said.
Remembered when I tried to give up because nothing I did seems to be working.
Until the day when I decided to change my mindset and went to God in prayer for the first time in a long while, things then slowly started falling into place.
    Thanks for this post.

  2. Amen!! I felt this very same way. I felt God tell me to make a change to trust in him and here I am trusting and believing that he will have his way. It’s scary sometimes and discouraging when you don’t see the results you want. But I keep believing that God doesn’t make mistakes and that he has a plan and purpose.

    • Yes, His word won’t return void. It’s hard to “trust fall” into his promises. Sometimes we don’t see the results the way we expect, but it’s all working out for our good and the good of others. You never know who is watching or who you are sowing into. God bless you! Thank you for your comment!

I am so happy to have read this post. And I agree 100% with the jist of it. We have to be trustful and initiate creating the change we want to see in the world. I am a Yoga teacher, and today I started my class with a similar concept…Sometimes we have to be the ones to start creating the community we wish to be part of. ❤ Have a lovely day! Elly xo

  4. That is such a concept. Whatever we desire to see around us start with us. WE have to give and be whatever it is we desire first, like how God loved us first. He didn’t wait for us to love him or Love back before he decided we were worth dying for and saving.

I love this and it is so true. I often remind fellow Believers that God in Scripture often gives the big jobs to people who were already serving Him in small ways. Too many Christians sit around waiting for instructions, when many of God’s instructions are simple and clear – love your neighbor, forgive people around you, teach others about God, show them His love. It’s when we get busy doing these things that God refines our mission. Be the change you want to see!
